Ashiatsu means foot pressure and is inspired by Eastern massage techniques. It is an effective treatment for neck and back pain and overall muscle tension. This treatment is performed on a massage table. The therapist supports herself using bars suspended from the ceiling and applies foot pressure to specific points along the spine and body for maximum muscle compression. Clients may receive pressure ranging from moderate to very deep work without the discomfort that often occurs with the use of a therapist’s thumbs and elbows.
